Spanish Oaks Reservoir

We had so much fun today at Spanish Oaks Reservoir. I didn't know this existed until a few weeks ago when a friend posted some pictures on facebook that they went here and then I was telling Mike we should take the kids there and go try it out. He had recently went there with the young men canoeing and said it would be fun. This actually worked out perfectly. Eliza has been begging EVERY day for the last few months to go to the beach. (I believe she got this idea from the little critters book that they go to the beach). We were going to go on vacation to California this summer but for a couple of reasons this fell through and we backed out of this vacation. I was bummed cause I really wanted to take her to the beach and then I came to the knowledge of this reservoir. So today we had a free afternoon with nothing to do and went and had some fun. It was kind of a bummer because the sand was not good "sand castle" building sand. It was kind of rocky. Eliza said the wanted to build a big sand castle that she could play in. Well that was not going to happen. I hope she was satisfied though. I didn't swim. Megan and I just mostly hung out in our shade tent. We will definitely be going back to play it was so much fun. Maybe then I will join them in the water.

Our Little Golfer

A couple of weeks ago the McBrides gave Tyson some little golf clubs and golf bag that their boys had grown out of. Mike finally got a chance to take him to hit some practice balls. He was so excited to go and use his balls.

Some July Randomness Fun

When the Rush family came to visit we went and ate at Wingers and as we were walking though the mall we saw these and we couldn't resist letting the kids try them out. They had a lot of fun on these things. Tyson and Tanner were too fast that we couldn't get a good picture of them.

I was so tired but obviously little Meg was not. She is just as wide awake and happy as can be.

Tyson and Eliza like to play house together and playing babies is actually Eliza's favorite thing to pretend right now. It doesn't help that we have a new baby in our home which makes it all that more fun to copy everything mom is doing.

We are so lucky to have Dad make us breakfast one morning.

At fiesta days on July 24th we decided it would be fun to go to the carnival. We got a few tickets and let the kids choose a couple rides to go on. The only ride Tyson cared to ride was the ferris wheel. He wanted to go on it so bad. There was no way Dad would get on it so I got to go with him. We had a lot of fun. He laughed at me because I got mad when he rocked the seat on me cause it made me nervous. It made him so happy. He loves a good thrill. He was not scared at all and his mom was a little bit scared. After the carnival we enjoyed the fireworks show at the sports park. It was a fun family night,

Eppich Family Campout

We had a great weekend camping with the Eppich crew. We all had a lot of fun. The babies got passed around a lot and were given a lot of attention and love.

 Megan napping with Grandma...

...and grandpa

You can't go camping without fire...

...roasting marshmallows...

...and eating gooey, yummy, s'mores.

Eating every last bit of marshmallow off that graham cracker

We enjoyed hanging out by the creek again

and this time mike brought his swim suit along

Little Meg just chillin...and being happy...

...and enjoying as many fingers as she can get into that little mouth of hers.

We found out right here that she can sit up really quite well by herself.

We enjoyed a fun Luau prepared by Grandma (inspired from their Hawaii trip this year). We had good food-pork, rice, rolls, and fruit. The kids did a few fun crafts. The made fishes, aquariums, and leis.

Then the kids pulled out the musical instruments from last year that grandma made and had fun entertaining us

The also danced for us. Ty had some amazing dancing skills.

Thanks for another great camping trip. We loved having no rain and we had a lot of fun.
