Sandbox Time

This afternoon we went outside and enjoyed the warm weather. We played outside...mostly in the sandbox and had a lot of fun together.

Music School

Tyson learned about music at school today. He learned about different types of instruments and got to play some different instruments. Then he got to make his own instrument and have a marching band and also was given a recorder to play his own music at home.

Art Day

For art day at school the kids learned about different ways to make art. They went and picked their own rocks to paint. Also, they made snocones.

Tyson update

I thought since I have talked a lot about Eliza I would share some fun things about Tyson right now.

*He loves to hid and jump out and say "surprise." (He learned this from Cat in Hat)
*He still sucks his thumb more than ever. We have tried to get him to stop by using band-aids and the Thum fingerpainting liquid. But neither of them worked.
*He loves peanut butter and honey, nuggets, spaghetti, chocolate milk
*He is not a breakfast person.
*He loves to copy his dad in almost any way
*He pesters his little sister. (But isn't that what big brothers are suppose to do) However, Eliza is starting to defend herself and has bitten him a few times and is starting to bug him back. They have started to play better together. He loves her so much and watches after her. He likes to tattle tale on her for doing anything. He is good at making sure she doesn't get into things. Somtimes they have screaming matches. Sometimes things that he shouldn't do to her makes her laugh which makes it hard for me to make him stop when she is laughing. He is such a good big brother.
*He doesn't take naps anymore. Just has quiet time while he watches a movie.
*He is always saying "I love you" and "I like you" and "Are you happy."
*He thinks mommy's kisses fix any owie. So cute.
*At nursery he got in trouble for kissing his friend Lynlee.
*He gets mad if he doesn't get to give eliza kisses and hugs before bed and naptime.
*He loves garbage trucks and tractors and trians (typical boy)
*The lawnmowers come every tuesday and he watches them till they leave
*He loves to read
*He loves to help me in the kitchen hence why we got him his own kitchen
*He doesn't like to play by himself much
*He is very good at remembering things
*For a very long time he has come into our bed almost every morning and during the night until recently. He  has been staying in his own bed. Now I call that an accomplishment.
*Funny things he says-"It's my weekend", Tyson hurt his lip and I gave him a popsicle and asked him if the cold made it feel better and he said, "No your kisses make it feel better." We went to Mcdonalds and Ty looked into the bag of food and says, "oh gosh, cheeseburger, cheeseburger...!" This is one of our conversations-Chari: Ty its St. Patrick's Day and we are going on a little treasure hunt for a prize." Ty: "Where? Walmart?"
*His favorite cartoon is still Curious George.
*He loves Cars and Toy story.
*He knows most of his number 1-10, and abc's, and shapes. He can count to 20. We are working on writing his name. He can spell his name though if you ask him.
*Loves music and loves to sing-favorite songs are Wheels on the Bus, Jesus Wants me for a Sunbeam, We are the Dinosaurs. *Is such a good helper (when he want to be).
*Loves to be outside. Loves to go to the park, feed the ducks, go for walks.
*He loves going to nursery class.
We love our Ty-Ty and wouldn't know what to do without his little personality in our lives.

Eliza 18 Months

We went to Eliza's appointment today and she is healthy and got one little shot. Though, she still has her little heart murmur that she has had since birth.
*She weighs 18.6 lbs (5th percentile) and is 30.5 in long (12th percentile).
Eliza is at such a fun stage and here are some fun things about her.
*When I tell Eliza No she looks at me and shakes her head no.
*she doesn't say many, if any, words besides mama and dada. But I know she really is trying to talk and jabbers a lot. She understands exactly what we are saying though. I will tell her to take the clothes and put them in the hamper and she will. She will get us a diaper when we ask her too. Ect.
*She loves to sing
*She is still a picky eater but she likes crackers, anything sugary, cereal, cheese, chicken nuggets, spaghetti, pizza, some fruit, noodles, pancakes, jello.
*She knows when we are getting ready to leave and will bring me her shoes and go and stand by the door.
*When she wants to go outside she will go get her shoes and try and put them on.
*she is just cute and funny
*She loves to point at herself in pictures.
*She is having really bad seperation anxiety. I think it is going to take her awhile to grow out of this cause she has a really hard time when I leave her.
*She finally started giving us kisses
*On May 6, We made cookies and set them on the table to cool. We were sitting on the couch when Eliza came into the room and had a cookie. None of us gave her one. I guess the cookies were good enough temptation to figure out how to climb up and down the kitchen chairs. I guess I can't complain though since she didn't figure it out until now.
*She has a biting problem
*She loves sitting on my lap when I am at the computer
*Loves to go down slides but hates the swings at the park.
*Puts anything in her mouth-crayons, dirt, sand ect...
*she is stubborn and determined
*When she doesn't get her way, she will let you know with her high pitched scream.
*She loves to wear shoes
*She loves to put things in our shoes
*She had no binky by 17 months, however she still has a bottle
*She loves to carry bags/purses around
*She is on pediasure and has one of those a day in her bottle and one bottle of milk.
*She loves to be outside and has a fit when she has to come inside
*She loves to twirl in circles
*Sheloves to play peek a boo
*She loves books
*She wears size 3 diapers and is in size 12 month clothes
*She takes one 3 hour nap 12:30-3:30
*She is scared of the vacuum and loud trucks
*She loves to pester Ty
*She went to nursery for the first time and stayed for a little while. Hopefully she adjusts quick.
*She loves playing with Ty and most the time loves his roughness.
*Eliza just follows me and Tyson around all day long.
*She loves Tyson-He was gone for a while and when he came back she got extremely excited and started grabbing at him and screaming. (She does this when Mike comes home from work too.)
*She loves to play in bathroom in my hair things
*When we open the fridge or pantry door and she will be by your side trying to get into anything she can.
*She can climb up and down stairs, finally.
We just love her little personality and are just enjoying hr sweet, fun spirit. We have the cutest girl in the world.

I love her little piggie tails.

Splash Pad

This was the first time we went to the splash pad this season. We didn't stay too long because a whole bus load of middle school students came to play. But the kids loved it before they got there. Eliza was a little unsure of it. This is because anytime she gets her feet wet she is nervous she is going to slip because it has happend a few times at home. Tyson loved the splash pad this time. I was nervous he wouldn't because last year he played in it one time and wouldn't go in it again the rest of the year so I am glad he liked it this time. I am sure we will go there many times this summer.

Happy Unbirthday Theme

We had a happy unbirthday theme for school. We talked about numbers and shapes. They each got a party hat. They also practiced spelling their names, They got to frost and sprinkle cupcakes, and fished for shapes to decorate a cake, popped balloons and found shapes inside them, and got to open presents. They each got a set of the alphabet to put on the fridge.

Spaghetti Night

So I always am prepared for spaghetti night. Especially with Eliza. I strip her down to her diaper and let her go at it. She is trying to figure out how to eat with a fork these days and is doing quite well. Well and if the fork doesn't work just grab it with the hands. So fun.

Visit to Salt Lake

We went up to Salt Lake to visit Mike's mom for Mothers Day. Most of the day we spent as the new City Creek Center. Eliza LOVED the splash pad (wish I had gotten a picture) and they both loved the dinosaur play area in the food court. We spent a lot of time there because the kids were having so much fun there. It was such a fun place and can't wait to go back.

Handy Kids

I had left the screwdriver out from fixing something and the next thing I kniew the knobs were off our cupboards. Tyson unscrewed them. He is always so curious about everything and how things work and so smart. And of course anything Ty does Eliza is right there at his side trying to help. I just love these pictures. It was such a fun moment.
