A Weekend Getaway

Our friends, the Jones's invited us to their cabin for the weekend. Our other friends the Sperry family also came. We had a great time. We had pizza on Friday night and the kids all played really well together while the adult were able to play some games. We stayed up way too late talking. The next morning we lounged around, made a big breakfast, and played more games. It was a great little getaway. The kids all had fun together and Tyson was such a good sport since he was the only boy. He said he still had fun.

For Christmas, Grandma Eppich gave all of the grand-kids a ticket to have a Grandma's Getaway Day at the Museum of Natural Curiosity at Thanksgiving Point. The kids had a lot of fun. The water was a lot of fun and Megan soaked herself.

Thanks Grandma for such a fun day!!

Tyson is such an incredible little boy.  He is so smart and doing so well in school. It is so fun to see him learning and reading. He is so helpful at home. He is such a great big brother. He is so caring others and has the sweetest personality. He is very tender hearted as well. We love you little man and love the boy you are growing into.

Happy Birthday Tyson

Happy, Happy Birthday Tyson! I hope that today is the best birthday ever. I can't believe you are already 6 years old. You bring us so much joy and happiness. I love the way you smile and get so happy and excited. We love you. Happy Birthday.

When I asked Tyson what he wanted for his birthday he told me he wanted a new scooter and cash. Tyson started out the morning by opening his 1st birthday gift before school. A brand new scooter.

Then he was off to school where I got to go into his classroom and do a spotlight on him. We made a poster about him and read his favorite book and hand out a birthday treat (his choice was a gum sucker). While he was at school we got ready for the day and his birthday. I went to the store and got balloons (we put a dollar in each balloon...we got 6 balloons-six dollars for our six year old...for the cash that he wanted). We also decorated his cake which we thought out was so cool and made the dirt cups for his party that night that he wanted to have.

After school Tyson got to open his second present. We wanted to keep him in a little bit of anticipation and drag his birthday out all day long. He has been eyeing this toy at the store for a long time so I finally picked it up for him for his birthday.

After lunch he chose his activity to be going to Trafalga. We had a great time. It was the perfect time to go. It was right in the middle of the day so it wasn't crowded at all and we got to do everything we wanted to do. His first activity rock climbing, followed by arcade games, and mini golfing.

The last time Eliza rode this ride she screamed the whole time. It was a year ago. So this time I told her if she wanted to go Ty and I would both hold her hand. She did great this time. Tyson rode this like three times in a row. I was good after once. I must be getting old.

This little one slept most of the time in her carseat while we were there. She did wake up and hang out with us for awhile though. What a beautiful, happy girl.

Eliza has great technique.

Tyson requested a construction party. He said he wanted his cousins there so we had a family party...much easier than a friend party.

Winter/Chistmas Break

We had a great Winter/Christmas Break. There were days we did some deep cleaning and running errands, days we were completely lazy and just chilled out and spent time as a family, and other days we were busy having fun.

One of those lazy days.

This was the day after Christmas. We all met at Grandma's to go swimming at her pool. I have a few little fishies in my little family. They love the water.

Playing with new Christmas toys before heading to church

We also made a gingerbread house that didn't last very long either. It collapsed very quickly and then the kids enjoyed eating the candy.

We also went to Home Depot to the kids workshop and the kids made sleds. The kids enjoyed this activity very much.
