Free Entertainment

They are doing construction right in front of our house and the kids have been having so much fun watching them all week. While I was getting ready and cleaning the house they snuck out with their blankets and just sat together watching the tractors. Love when these two get along and have fun together. It is so fun to be able to catch these moments. Sweet memories!

The Big Day

This day has been very long awaited. Six years to be exact. Mike finished school in December and received his diploma in February but today he walked in graduation. He received his Bachelors of Science in Business Management. He has worked so hard for this. He has sacrificed so much time for this accomplishment. It has been so nice not to worry about school and to have a husband and dad back in our lives. I am so proud of Mike for enduring through school and finishing. It was so exciting to be there at his graduation. I can't even describe how proud I am of this man and his accomplishments. I love you babe.
The kids and I, Mike's mom and my parents all attended graduation. We went to graduation and then celebrated by going to Sizzler for lunch. That night we invited our family and friends to an ice cream sundae bar party all in celebration of Mike.

No More Crib

Well we finally decided to have Eliza make the transition from a crib to toddler bed. She wasn't climbing out of her crib but we decided since she is potty trained she better be able to get out of bed in case she needs to go to the bathroom. I don't know who was more excited Eliza or Tyson. What a difference the transition was for her compared to Tyson. Yes, it is only the first night but still I think waiting until she was older and knew what was going on made a huge difference.  We made her nighttime routine the same and shut the door as usual...and she went right to sleep with NO problems at all. I really don't know that I was ready for the transition because I believe she is started to sway away from her nap times and this might make it harder for her to stay in her bed and nap because she is able to get out now. Hopefully since I close the door she will be used to it and at least be okay with quiet time.  We shall see how it goes. I really need her to still take her 2 hour nap. It gives me my sanity during the day. My little girl is growing up first she is potty trained and now has moved to a toddler bed. Can we just press the pause button to pause time for a little bit.  I am so enjoying her fun personality...Yes her terrible two's are consistently appearing with her high pitched screams, independence, and temper tantrums--not to mention her stubborn personality.  She is so fun and can grin her way out of almost anything. She has so many facial expressions-we especially love her scowl which makes us laugh every time. We love out little Eliza and her precious personality. Just stop growing so fast!!!

Beach Day

At preschool Ty celebrated beach day. He was so excited about his little treat. Isn't it so cute?  We had a pizza party with his friends for his last day of his little preschool. I think he will miss his little school but it will be fun in the fall to go to an actual preschool and meet new friends.

A Visit to the Farm

We had so much fun on our visit to Young Living Family Farms. The kids were so excited to get to go on the wagon ride around the farm to see the animals. This is one of the last outings for our little preschool group. Tyson's best friend Tristen is moving and a couple of us are going to start our little school with the younger siblings. We have had SOOO much fun teaching these little ones.

No more diapers...I'm a big girl now!

Could it be true? Is this little girl really potty trained? Well she only wears a diaper at night and big girl undies during the day. It started off so great. We decided to start potty training because she would always take off her pants and diaper when any of us used the toilet and want to sit on the toilet too. She had never actually gone until we started to potty train her. So we got her some underwear and one morning we just started. I put underwear on her and gave her lots to drink and took her to the toilet every 20-30 minutes. After every time she would go potty she would get 2 smarties. After several times going she would just tell me she needed to go. She did so good for several days. She still does good but has become a little resistant with us and is struggling with pooping in the toilet. Hopefully it is a small hurdle we have to get over. There are many days I say I am going to throw in the towel and put a diaper back on her (which I don't think she would even mind) but as much as I hate the hard things that come with potty training I really don't want to put her back in diapers cause I know she can do it. I know she knows what she is doing but we have a very stubborn little 2 year old. I am so proud of her though and how easy it was for her to catch on. Wish us continued luck with this endeavor and that I will have the patience to deal with those frustrating times that go with potty training.

What can create hours of joy and entertainment?

The answer is...a squirt bottle. Tyson and Eliza both love to help clean (sometimes a little too much help). Tyson loves to get the squirt bottle out and "clean" the house. Well our squirt bottle broke so I had to get another one and was smart enough to get two. Well it kind of drove me nuts to have all these little puddles around the house where the kids had been cleaning. So I am so glad it is spring and good weather is here so I can send them out during the day to "clean" the porch. It is especially nice during the inevitable hard time while I am cooking dinner. The kids love it. I love it. Aren't they just so cute!?

Salad for Breakfast?

We had an Easter dinner with my family on Sunday and I made a green salad to take. We had some left overs and the next morning I wake up to find Ty with the huge bowl of salad. He said that is what he wanted to eat for breakfast. My boy won't touch cereal or cheese but loves lettuce, tomatoes, and carrots. Can't get any cuter than that. This boy is so funny and makes me laugh every single day.
