He Finished!

Mike and Chris completed a half marathon on Saturday morning in 3 hours and 40 minutes. Mike did not do as much training as he should have which resulted in many leg cramps the last little bit of the race and needed a little help, but he can now say he FINISHED a half marathon (13.1 miles). He did tell me he was never going to do it again but we will see. I told him I would train with him if he wanted to do a shorter run such as a 5 or 10 K. Maybe I am crazy but I think it would be good for the both of us. I am very proud of him for finishing. Good job Babe!
The kids waiting for their dads to come to the finish line.

Almost to the finish line.

Walking through the finish line. (Chris Hazlett walked up about a mile from the race to find them and was able to help Mike across the finish line.)

Right after the race Mike collapsed on the ground because of his leg cramps and this was several minutes after that he was actually sitting up and shows somwhat of a smile.

Exciting News

Exciting news for me. I quit my job at Cascade Family Medicine and my last day was last week, August 11th. I will miss the people but I will not miss working. We are very happy with this decision and are hoping and praying that all will work out with just Mike working. As long as we are doing what we should be doing then I think we will be blessed and things will work out. I truly belive this. I believe that it is important for me to be at home with Ty. It is where I am suppose to be. The lord knows our situation and is happy with our decision. I am very excited to be a full time mommy and be able to not miss out on anything Ty does. These moments are very precious and he is learning and growing so much each day and I don't want to miss out on anything.
I just wanted to say how grateful I am for my mom and dad and say thank you for watching and taking care of our sweet boy for the last several months once a week. I know they loved it and are going to miss it. In fact my dad already said he missed seeing Ty this past Tuesday even though he was back at school. Thank you mom and dad.
However, I am grateful that I was able to work part time the last little while and Ty was able to see his grandparents each week and Mike was able to be with him on Fridays while I worked. Mike was able to spend more time with him and grow a special bond with him during this time and see what I do when I am at home and how hard it is to get anything done. I am just happy that I get to be home with him now and be a full time mommy.

A Whole Bunch of Randomness

Here are just a bunch of random fun pictures of our little man from the last couple of weeks. He is such an explorer and very mischevious. His laugh and smile make me happy. He is the cutest little boy ever.
It looks like Ty is fasinated with his hands.

Many times he will crawl through his entertainer and sometimes he will get stuck and get mad. What a little explorer.

A couple of weeks ago we went to Layton to see the Rush's and went to Costco. Here are the boys just as happy as can be. They will be great friends.

After Costco we went to Panda Express to eat lunch. Ty was very happy with a fortune cookie to keep him entertained.

This is one of the many positions Ty gets himself into. Actually, just this morning I found him sleeping in an almost similar position.

Ty is pulling himself up onto almost anything and everything-the bookcase, couches, crib, chairs.

This was on our trip in California. We were headed to the beach and Ty had sunscreen in his hair and I was playing with it and it was here that I realized how long it is. Time for a haircut!

This was on our trip home from Vegas. Ty was not very happy and so I gave him a chocolate licorice and he went to town. It kept him entertained for quite a while. As you can tell he sure loved it.

Ty is so hard to bathe lately. As soon as he hits the water he wants to be on his stomach. So I went and got him some bath toys which help keep him entertained long enough for me to clean him up then it is right back to his stomach to "eat" his new bath toys. He sure loves his baths when he can be on his tummy.

Tuesday I was able to babysit Cassy's kids for an hour. They had Scooby Doo on and when I went around the corner this is what I saw. Even Ty looks fasinated with it.

One of Ty's favorite things-cords. When the chair does not get back into place so he climbs right under the table to play with the cords. I always have to make sure I have the chair in place so he can't get to them and even then he tries to climb through the chair. I find him there at least once a day if not more. What a little cheeser.

This is a video of how Ty has been getting around for the last month or so by scooting. I almost thought he was going to skip crawling and go right to walking. He would get on his knees and either fall right back on his belly or take one or two crawls and then fall back down. Maybe he realizes he can get around faster scooting on his stomach then on all fours. And then just last night he crawled halfway across the room. So maybe he will actually crawl before he walks. Still most the time he scoot but he will occasionally crawl. I haven't been able to get a good video of him crawling yet but I bet I will within the next few days.

California Beach fun

Last week we took a short trip to California. We decided that we needed a little vacation. Mike finished his last final Wednesday and we headed out. We stopped and spent the night in Vegas with some friends and left Thursday morning towards California to visit Mike's brother Jarrod, his wife Mya, and daughter Adriana. It was a short trip and did not do too much but visit and go to the beach on Friday. This was Ty's first trip to the beach. We left San Diego on Saturday afternoon and again stayed in Vegas and left Vegas to come home Sunday afternoon. Even though the trip was short it was good to get away and relax.
Ty had a rough start to the beach and water...

...but soon he warmed up to the ocean...

...he had fun playing in the sand...

...and eating it...

...and we all had fun chilling under the sun and enjoying the beach...

Tyson is 7 Months

Tyson is now seven months. Wow how time flies and how fast our baby is growing and learning. He is our special little guy and brings our family so much joy. I can not remember a time when he was not with us. We love him so much.

Here is a list of Tyson's favorites, accomplishments, ect...
-Tyson is 18.8 pounds and is about 27.5 inches long.
-Tyson wears size three diapers and is in 6-9 month clothes.
-Tyson has big pretty blue eyes.
-Tyson scoots all over the the house. He will get up on his knees rock back and forth then falls back to his stomach and starts scooting again.
-Tyson can get from his stomach to his bum in a sitting position.
-He can pull himself from the floor up to the couch.
-He loves to play with his fingers and when eating a bottle he pulls and plays with his own hair. (He also loves to play and pull mommy's hair.)
-Tyson hair is getting long, he has a chubby tummy and is slowly getting taller.
-There have been a few comments that he has a red tint in his hair. He gets that from his dad.
-Tyson is a great sleeper. He usually takes two naps a day and sleeps from about 9 pm to 7 or 8 am. (Sometimes he will cry in the night when he loses his binkie but once it gets stuck back in he is right back asleep.)
-Tyson eats about four formula bottles a day and eats solids twice a day. He has tried many different foods and loves most of them. He is a good eater most of the time too.
-Tyson loves swim, watch baby einstein movies, baths, and loves being on his tummy to play.
-Tyson loves to cuddle, wiggle, "talk", and "scream".
-Some of his favorite things to play with are cords, tags, channel changers, keyboards, and grass.
- He has been camping twice and loves being outside.
-Tyson recognizes when his mom and dad are in the room and when we leave and lets us know he is not happy when we leave.
-Tyson is very hard to bathe. He always like to be on his tummy especially in the bath and immediatly tries to turn over when he hits the water.

24th Camping Trip

Over the July 24th weekend we went camping up Hobble Creek canyon. We had a lot of fun. We relaxed, ate lots of good food, played in the river, had fun chatting, and of course cooked smores over the campfire. Tyson loved the smores and wanted everyone to share with him.
