I Like to Look For Rainbows

One Saturday night a couple of weeks ago when it was a little bit stormy we had stepped outside after it had rained and saw this beautiful rainbow. I love rainbows and it just made me think how grateful I am for the little things in life that make me happy and rainbows are just one of those things.

Our Little Man

Well here are a few fun pics of what our little man Ty has been up to. He loves story time. Ignore the pic of me it is not that great of a picture of myself.

Even though he doesn't crawl yet he sure gets around the house by scooting. He loves to go exploring.

A couple of weekends ago a couple of our friends were camping up Hobble Creek and so we went up for dinner and smores. Ty loves being outside. He also loves when dad puts him on his shoulders and he can tug at his hair (at least the little bit that he has) and his face.

The other night Mike bathed Tyson and I was suppose to get him dressed. I went to get his clothes and when I came back into the living room this is what I saw. It made me laugh. It kind of looks like he is a little ghost. And when I went to see his face it was completely covered. All I could see was his mouth. It was pretty dang cute.

Ty is a very observant little boy and the last little bit has really noticed his fingers and what they can do. He sits and plays with his fingers all the time.

This was just this morning. We had gone swimming the other night and I left his tube in the living room on the floor and he has been playing with it a little bit here and there. This morning he flipped it over himself and this is what he looked like. He just sat there and laughed. What a cute boy I got.

Baby Food

A few weeks ago I decided I was going to make my own baby food. I learned that it is the way to go. IT IS SO MUCH CHEAPER AND QUITE EASY. It took me a couple days just because I did not have enough ice cube trays to do it all at once. I did carrots, peas, green beans, sweet potatoes, pears, carrots, and peaches. I first boiled or steamed the vegetable/fruit and once it was soft I put it in the blender and pureed it then filled ice cube trays. I then put them in the freezer and the next day took them out of the ice cube trays and put them in plastic freezer bags. I made quite a lot and I believe it should last me a couple of months and by that time may be eating a little bit more table foods. I would highly recommend making your own baby food-at least the fruits and vegetables.

Tyson is 6 Months

Today Tyson is 6 months old. Wow how time flies. He is so much fun and learns new things each day. He is trying out many different solid foods. He likes sweet potatoes, carrots, pears, applesauce is iffy on squash, peaches, and peas. He also likes to snack on graham crackers. Ty is still a good sleeper. He has been since he was three months. He does have his bad nights but for the most part he is a great sleeper. He celebrated his first Fourth of July and watched his first fireworks in awe. He also went swimming for the first time and has been a few times and loves the water. He now sits up pretty well on his own. Ty is still a little wobbly and falls over but he gets stronger everyday. He gets up on his knees (see pic below) and sometimes I go into his room and I find him sleeping this way. He has just started scooting the last little bit (see video). Thank goodness because he gets so frustrated when he can't get to what he wants. I bet he will be an early crawler.

Fun Fourth!

We had a great Fourth of July. Tyson had fun for his first Fourth. He loved all of the excitement of the day.

The Parade

We went to the parade with Marci and her kids and Karli and her roomate Katherine. We weren't able to see the parade that great but it was still fun to be there. It did rain a little bit but not bad. We were under a tree so we were shaded and it wasn't too hot.

Hobble Creek Canyon
We went up the canyon and had a BBQ. We had turkey steaks for lunch, the kids did a fishing pond, we relaxed, played games, and we went to the creek and played in the water.

Fireworks
To watch the fireworks we went to the MTC field by the temple. Mike's mom, brother Chris, sister Lauree her husband Chris and baby Tanner came and watched the fireworks with us. Tyson loved the fireworks. He just sat and stared at them. We were a little let down by the fireworks show but it was still fun.

Anniversary Number 3

It was our third anniversary on Wednesday July 1, 2009. Time sure flies when you are having fun. Mike is my perfect fit. We have laughed and cried together and grown closer to each other in the last three years. My love for him and appreciation for him is so great. I am so happy he chose me to be his wife three years ago and made me a proud mommy. I am so grateful that he holds the priesthood and am so grateful for his example. He is an awsome husband and father.

We had a fun filled anniversary. For anniversary gifts he got me a UVU hoodie. I have wanted one ever since I graduated over a year ago. So, he was walking by the bookstore and they were on sale so he bought me it for our anniversary. Thanks honey!

I got him a couple of things. I got him a board game as a combined fathers day and anniversary gift. I got him Phase 10 Twist.

Also, I made him a candy bar poster that was waiting for him when he got home from school on Wednesday.

For dinner on Wednesday I made Cafe Rio pork salads at home. They were so good. It takes a lot of work and many dishes and afterward a big mess, but worth it once in a while.

Here is the BIG mess I was referring to.

Here is the yummy pork.

The finished product.

Since Mike had work and school on our anniversary we celebrated it mostly on Thursday. We spent the morning getting to ready to go up to Salt Lake City to celebrate. Our plan was to go with Chris and Lauree and take Tyson and Tanner swimming. It started raining so Mike said there was an indoor pool that he knew of that we could go to and swim. He pulled up to the Shilo Inn and surprised me by saying that he had got us a hotel room for the night and that Chris and Lauree were going to take Tyson for the night. (First time away from Tyson for the whole night. It was a little weird.) He was going to check in and we were going to go swimming. We were a little early to check in and they wouldn't let us. So we ended up going back to Chris and Lauree's house until our dinner reservation.

We had made dinner reservations at The Roof Restaurant (at the top of the Joseph Smith Memorial Building) for 5:30. Chris and Lauree had a gift card with some money on it so they joined us for a double date while we left the two boys with Mike's mom. We had a great time. Dinner was great and the desserts were even better. The view was gorgious as well.

After dinner, we went back to Chris and Lauree's house. We kissed Tyson goodnight and Mike and I went to the movie The Proposal. After the movie we went back to the hotel and since the pool was open 24 hours we went swimming and sat in the hot tub. It was a great night. Thanks for the wonderful surprise Mike.

The next morning Chris and Lauree brought the kids over the the hotel to go swimming since we weren't able to the day before. Here are some fun pictures of us swimming.

Thank you honey for a wonderful anniversary. I love you very much.
