Some Fun in February

That doesn't look too comfortable to me...but she is sound asleep.

These two are only about a month apart (Megan being older).

We have been enjoying this beautiful "winter" weather by playing outside a lot and going to the park after library time. Keep the warm weather coming.

How Eliza eats her sugar cookies...by only eating the frosting.

These three cousins are close in age and are going to have quite fun as they grow up playing together. We were all able to get together one night when Clark and Brecklyn came up. We went to Sizzler and had cake to celebrate Brecklyn's birthday.

The kids LOVE to make forts and then watch a movie. This was their most recent fort creation.

Another beautiful day as we played at grandma's park. Megan doesn't like the slides but loves the swings and Sarah loves the slides but doesn't like to swing. Two beautiful girls.

Fun in Kindergarten

For two weeks Ty's school had some professional artists come and help teach the kids. The students were broken up into groups and able to learn dance, visual arts, drumming, and musical theater. Ty's group worked with the musical theater artist. At the end of the second week they were able to share what they learned in an assembly. Ty was so excited to be able to participate in this assembly and show us what he had been doing at school.

All the kindergartners went to the Bean Museum for a field trip to discover and learn more about the animals there.

Happy Valentines Day

I like to get a little something for everyone on Valentine's Day but like to keep it simple. I got everyone a little tin filled with candy and a small toy. Tyson's tin had sour gummy worms it said "Hooked on You" with a  big bubble wand. Eliza got Reeses Pieces candy that said "Love you to Pieces" also with a bubble wand. Megan got crackers and a ball. Mike got Cinnamon Bears that said "For my 'Beary' Hot Valentine".

We wanted to do something fun this day with the kids so when Chris and Lauree called and asked if we wanted to either come with them to the Monster Truck Ralley or send Ty with them we took them up on it. We decided to just send Ty with them since we thought he would have a lot of fun.

We took Eliza and Megan to the zoo and it was such a beautiful day to walk around and see the animals. She made a good choice by coming with us to the zoo instead to see the Monster trucks. She really had a lot of fun, especially to have Dad and Mom all to herself (well except for Megan). I was a little disappointed that we weren't able to see the giraffe's though.

Eliza wanted to the see the monkeys first. They were her favorite...with the sea otters coming in at a close second. This monkey was right up next to the glass and that kinda freaked Eliza out because she thought he could get her. It took a lot of convincing but she finally got close to the monkey. She thought it was hilarious to see the monkeys/gorillas eating cardboard and doing somersaults. I think the monkeys are my favorite too.

That night Chris and Lauree volunteered to watch our kids and put them to bed while we went out to dinner. We found a cute little Thai food restaurant that was not too busy and quite romantic. A wonderful Valentine's Day.

Megan is 11 Months

Our Megan is 11 Months. She has been sick twice this month with a fever and a cold and today on her 11 month birthday she is not feeling well. But she is always so easy going and happy that we were still able to get some smiles.

She can wave and clap and shakes her head no to everything, and love to throw her food off her high chair and laugh when you tell her no.

She stands up and walks along the furniture.

She loves her baths, most foods, and being in Ty and Eliza's business, and loves playing at the play kitchen.

This past month she finally got her first bottom tooth.

I can't believe this little one is almost one year old. She is so much fun and a beautiful addition to our family. Her personality is shining through and she is so fun to watch. Happy 11 months.

Eliza's Heart Update

It has been over a year since Eliza had her heart surgery. Crazy. She is doing so well. So she had her heart checkup and everything looks great! She gained three pounds since her last visit. Her EKG was normal. When Dr. Hoffman listened to her heart he said that she has a soft murmur. But comparing his notes from her last visit it sounded the same. He wanted to have an echo-cardiogram on her just to make sure everything still looked good. He said that things look great. She has a mild leak on both sides of her heart (which is considered normal for her) and no residual ASD. He said that she wouldn't need another checkup for two years. Yay for happy news!

Like Mother-Like Daughter

My mom saved and gave me some of the dresses that I wore when I was little. It was so fun to be able to pass this dress onto Eliza and see her wear it and twirl in it and be a princess in it. What a beautiful girl.
