20 Weeks

Here I am at 20 weeks.

We had our ultra sound done a couple weeks prior and the baby was healthy and we found out we are having a baby girl. We are very excited. I had this motherly instinct it was a girl from early on because of the great difference in this pregnancy than when I was pregnant with Tyson. I am feeling pretty good right now and love feeling the baby moving inside of me. Now on to the obstacle of figuring out how to make an all boy room into a boy/girl room. I kind of like having a little theme so if there are any suggestions for a boy/girl theme I would love to hear them. I can't wait to meet this little girl. Mike is already getting after me for spending too much on this little girl, but I am having fun buying a few outfits and making hairbows.

18 Months

Tyson at 18 months!
Here are some fun things about Tyson!
-Weight: 25.8 lbs Height: 32 in
-loves to draw/color and does so a couple times a day. I am constantly finding pen marks on himself and often find him with a pen and paper in hand.
-can throw a mighty temper tantrum
-makes a few animal sounds: snake, sheep, cow
-favorite books: "The ants go marching" and "The wheels on the bus"
-is a mommy's boy
-loves chicken nuggets, hot dogs, corn dogs, green beans, peas, most sweets, milk, juice. Used to be a great eater but lately has gotten quite picky.
-Does not like cheese, bread, noodles, cereal, goldfish crackers. (can you believe this kid)
-Hasn't said too many words consistently yet besided dada, mama, and uh-oh. He is starting to try and repeat some words now though.
-Can do the sign language for more, please, and thank you
-Is a true boy...he burps and then laughs and then tries to make himself burp.
-loves to be outside...and hates coming back inside.
-loves to be in the water
-loves to help mom by throwing random things in the garbage can, and I have found some random things in the sink and the washer.
-Loves looking out the window especially to watch daddy come home from work and school.
-feeds himself and sometimes won't eat unless he has a fork in his hand
-Shakes his head "no" even when he means yes
-has went to nursery for a few weeks and does not do good. I don't know whether it is nursery itself or that our church starts at one so by the time we get to nursery he is tired since he won't take a nap before church. Hopefully he will start to do better. Fingers crossed.
I know I said a few things but I could probably still list more. He makes me laugh everyday and also go crazy. He is learning so much right now and has such a fun personality. I just love him so much.

I never know what to expect

So I am always a little nervous at what I am going to find Tyson has done while I have been in the shower. Whether it is playing in the pantry as was this day, my craft stuff, or my jewlery. One day I even found him with his diaper halfway off when I got out of the shower. I have found him climbing on the table and playing on the computer. I could go on and on. The joys of an active toddler. However, this day I just laughed at him and in the picture you can't really tell but I caught him in a mid clap. He was very proud of himself.

Family Campout

The second weekend in July we went camping up Springville canyon. We again had a lot of fun. Our family, the Smyths and my dad went up and stayed the night on Thursday. My mom did come up and join us for dinner. Tyson had been sick earlier in the week throwing up and of course that night he got sick again. He didn't sleep well and then threw up a little in the early morning. Good thing we were close to home so Mike took him home for a little bit and they slept and ate breakfast at home and Tyson was feeling better so them came back out and joined us. The rest of the clan also joined us on Friday afternoon. That night was much better. Tyson slept much better. We had a lot of fun at our family campout this year. Thanks mom and dad.

One of Tyson's favorite past times, coloring. Of course everything still goes in his mouth so he has marker lips.

And of course, can't go camping without roasting marshmellows over the fire and eating smores.

Playing in the creek again and throwing more rocks

4th of July Weekend

Our family had a really fun long 4th of July weekend. It started out on Saturday where we headed up to Springville canyon to have a little barbeque, play, grandma's annual fishing pond, relax, and of course play in the creek.

Tyson loves the swing

and the tunnel

When Tyson wasn't throwing rocks in the creek you could most likely find them in his mouth. He would find the biggest rocks he could and throw them. He did this for quite a while.

The Hazlett Family

After our barbeque we came home and had dinner, relaxed a little bit and then that night we met up with some friends and watched the fireworks from the Stadium of Fire. Sorry no pics.
Sunday was not as eventful. We went to church and then that night went on a walk and found ourselves enjoying others fireworks along the way.
Monday was Provo's 4th of July parade. We got up and went to Provo for the parade.

I didn't get pics for the rest of the day but we headed over to my sisters house in Springville where my parents treated us to pizza for lunch. Then it was off to Grandma and Grandpa's house for a swim in the pool. We were so exhausted after all that we came home and had a long nap, ate dinner, and let off a few of our own fireworks. We had a very busy and fun fourth weekend.

Bye, Bye Binkie

As you can see Tyson was an avid binkie user. WAS is the keyword here. The first weekend of July we cut out the binkie. Tyson was biting through them and not sleeping very good. He was on some nights waking up every hour cause he had lost his binkie. So I finally said I had had it and said we are done with the binkies and took them away cold turkey. It was lots better than I had thought it would be. It was the fourth of July weekend and so we had lots going on and some late nights so that exhausted Ty and mostly went down without a fight. He has done really well. Some nights and naptimes are harder to get him to sleep but I think he sleeps better without them. So Ty who was completely addicted to his binkie is now binkie free. Yay!
