Little Megan is 5 Months

Our little Megan is getting so big. She is now 5 months old. This month she started eating some solids and has really grown to love them as time has gone on. She has tried carrots, sweet potatoes, bananas, applesauce and squash. She is usually a bit unsure with the first bite or two but gobbles it right down. She has her mouth open as soon as she sees the spoon. Hopefully she continues to be a good eater as time goes on. She drinks 5-6 ounces of formula every 3-4 hours. We have also started giving her some apple juice in a sippy cup which she can't figure out how to do the sippy cup thing yet and always gives us a funny face when we help her and she drinks the apple juice.

She has started to sit by herself a little bit. She is still quite wobbly but loves to sit up especially so she can watch her brother and sister play which is one of her favorite things to do.

She always has her thumb or fingers in her mouth either sucking or chewing on them. Hopefully it doesn't turn into a long term habit.

She is such a happy baby. She loves to be talked to and watch what is going on around her. She also loves to watch the TV especially morning cartoons sitting by Ty and Eliza.

If we are at home and on routine she takes about 3 naps a day still. Usually a short morning and evening nap with a longer afternoon nap. She sleeps through the night going to bed around 8 and sleeping until 7:30 am.

This month she has been camping for the first time and did great, experience fireworks and fun with the 4th and 24th of July, and to Bear Lake for our family vacation.

She loves her brother and sister and likes to watch them play, likes to watch the leaves outside, loves her saucer, and loves to sit up, and loves to eat, and she loves her baths but she HATES cold water when we go swimming and will freak out.

This month she also rolled over from her belly to her back for the first time. She doesn't do it all the time but she can do it. Maybe cause I am bad at giving her tummy time. She hasn't rolled from her back to tummy yet but loves to roll to her side and will just hang out on her side but doesn't care to roll over.
She is moving a little bit, mostly pivoting in a circle not scooting too much though. She is always turned around a different way in her crib than when we put her in it.

She is just our happy, happy, chill baby girl and mostly cries when she is really tired or really hungry. We love our little Meggy and so glad she is a part of our family.
Nicknames she has been given: Meg, Megs, and our favorite Meggy

Weight 15.2 pounds.

I didn't measure her and since it wasn't one of her checkups with the doctor her weight is all I got.

Spanish Oaks Reservoir

We had so much fun today at Spanish Oaks Reservoir. I didn't know this existed until a few weeks ago when a friend posted some pictures on facebook that they went here and then I was telling Mike we should take the kids there and go try it out. He had recently went there with the young men canoeing and said it would be fun. This actually worked out perfectly. Eliza has been begging EVERY day for the last few months to go to the beach. (I believe she got this idea from the little critters book that they go to the beach). We were going to go on vacation to California this summer but for a couple of reasons this fell through and we backed out of this vacation. I was bummed cause I really wanted to take her to the beach and then I came to the knowledge of this reservoir. So today we had a free afternoon with nothing to do and went and had some fun. It was kind of a bummer because the sand was not good "sand castle" building sand. It was kind of rocky. Eliza said the wanted to build a big sand castle that she could play in. Well that was not going to happen. I hope she was satisfied though. I didn't swim. Megan and I just mostly hung out in our shade tent. We will definitely be going back to play it was so much fun. Maybe then I will join them in the water.

Our Little Golfer

A couple of weeks ago the McBrides gave Tyson some little golf clubs and golf bag that their boys had grown out of. Mike finally got a chance to take him to hit some practice balls. He was so excited to go and use his balls.

Some July Randomness Fun

When the Rush family came to visit we went and ate at Wingers and as we were walking though the mall we saw these and we couldn't resist letting the kids try them out. They had a lot of fun on these things. Tyson and Tanner were too fast that we couldn't get a good picture of them.

I was so tired but obviously little Meg was not. She is just as wide awake and happy as can be.

Tyson and Eliza like to play house together and playing babies is actually Eliza's favorite thing to pretend right now. It doesn't help that we have a new baby in our home which makes it all that more fun to copy everything mom is doing.

We are so lucky to have Dad make us breakfast one morning.

At fiesta days on July 24th we decided it would be fun to go to the carnival. We got a few tickets and let the kids choose a couple rides to go on. The only ride Tyson cared to ride was the ferris wheel. He wanted to go on it so bad. There was no way Dad would get on it so I got to go with him. We had a lot of fun. He laughed at me because I got mad when he rocked the seat on me cause it made me nervous. It made him so happy. He loves a good thrill. He was not scared at all and his mom was a little bit scared. After the carnival we enjoyed the fireworks show at the sports park. It was a fun family night,
