San Diego Girls Trip

It was said that this summer we needed to take a girls trip. After some debate we decided on San Diego. So our awesome husbands and some grandparents graciously took charge of the kids so we could all enjoy a fabulous getaway together.

WEDNESDAY
Here we are on the plane...San Diego, here we come!

THURSDAY: CRUISE, BEACH, AND PLAY

We got to check out the U.S.S Midway Aircraft carrier as we were walking to get on our two hour full bay harbor cruise tour

While on the harbor cruise tour we got to witness the USS Carl Vinson return home after 10 months of being deployed. It is hard to see in this picture but the sailors or manning the rails. There was also music playing and boats spraying water for them.

It was cool to see the sea lions just hanging out

After the harbor cruise tour we went to Coronodo Island and had lunch and then we went and pampered ourselves with pedicures.

Then it was off to the beach. Someone had built this cool sandcastle for those who had returned on the USS Carl Vinson. It was fun as we went around downtown to see several of those navy officers who had returned home reuniting with their families.

I sent a little love drawing to my family at home.
My sweet mom who treated us to a wonderful girls vacation to San Diego. I love you!

A group selfie photo with Hotel Del Coronodo behind us
Our newly pedicured feet.
Then it was off to Balboa park. We wanted to rent bikes on the trip at some point but thought this might be more fun.  Well it was quite the adventure and a lot harder to drive than it looks. Many laughs on this bike contraption.

That night we also went and saw the play Arms and the Man at Balboa park. It was a pretty cute play.

FRIDAY: SEAWORLD

Karli and I getting ready to ride the Manta roller coaster. The only one I cared to do. I think I am getting too old for those roller coasters. They are rougher on me and scare me more than they used to.

At the sea lions show

At the dolphins show -- my favorite show

We thought the flamingos were quite interesting

After sea world we had some time before we needed to grab dinner so we went to The Mormon Battalion Museum which was really cool.

SATURDAY: SAN DIEGO TEMPLE
Saturday morning we went to the temple and did a session, went to lunch and headed to the airport.

Waiting to board the plane
We all had a great time enjoying being together with lots of laughing. Thanks girls for a memorable trip. Love you all!

While Mom's Away the Kids will Play

While I was away on my girls trip Mike did such a great job with the kids and they had a lot of fun. They picked up a few brag tags, made ice cream, went to the park, celebrated a birthday with pizza, and went to Salt Lake to see Grandma Olson in which they found some bounce houses and a rock climbing wall.

All in May

Here are just a bunch of random shots of the kids.

I just love that smile!

Using a spoon for the first time. Learning to feed yourself is hard messy work

Mike says he has been waiting to mow his own yard for a long time and now he can't even do that cause Tyson has taken over. He was very proud of himself being able to mow the lawn.

Our library has these fun playmags that Ty had fun playing with one day. Each time we go the kids spend a lot of time playing with them.

These two have a special bond. Our other two kids have clung to mommy a little bit more especially by now but Meg doesn't really have a preference as long as it is one of us.

Mike took Ty to the Spanish Fork Rodeo. They had a blast.

When we were in Ogden for Austin's wedding a few day before memorial day, we stopped at Dad's grave and took some flowers and this fun pinwheel that the grandkids all signed for Grandpa. Miss you every single day Dad!

Grandma doing "Gummi Bears" with the babies
We were at Tyson's school for a mother's day picnic lunch. We got to share lunch together and Tyson gave me a few gifts. Love these three!

Bunnies

One of Mike's coworkers thought we should have some bunnies. So he brought over two female brown bunnies. Tyson named his Elvin and Eliza named hers fluffy.

Well the next day we experienced a tragedy and Elvin had died. Mike told his friend and he showed up at our house with another male bunny. This time Ty named his bunny Spikey.

The kids liked them for a little while and their friends think they are fun but Ty is sick of chasing them. Most the time we let them roam out in the yard but then Ty and Mike have to chase them to catch them which is not the easiest job. They are fast. They like to dig, they have escaped a few times, and the like to chew on things. We will see how long we actually keep them.

Ty's Kindergarten Graduation

The day of Tyson's graduation was also the day of my cousin Austin's wedding in Ogden. So Mike and I decided to split ourselves and he went to Tyson's graduation and I went to the temple sealing in Ogden. After graduation Mike met me up in Ogden for the dinner and reception.

I can't believe Ty is done with Kindergarten and moving on to 1st grade. He is so excited. Most of the pictures were blurry so I have only posted a few.

Eliza and her Teachers

This year Eliza went to Canyon Elementary for preschool. She had some really amazing teachers and she progressed so much-(especially with her speech). We finished off the year with a picnic at school with all her friends and teachers.
Miss Michelle (Fabis)--(Preschool Teacher) and Eliza
Miss Michelle has been Eliza's teacher since she turned 3 so a year and a half. She has been so good with her. I was sad to have to change Eliza's preschool teacher this next year since we moved because she has been doing so well with Miss Michelle. However, we learned that Miss Michelle will actually be not teaching there anymore.
Miss Amy (Farnworth) and Eliza
Miss (Michelle) Carter and Eliza
Miss Lori (Elquist) --(Speech Therapist) and Eliza
When Eliza started doing speech with Kids Who Count it was Miss Lori who came to our house to help her with her speech. So when we found out that she was the speech therapist to help there with Eliza at preschool we were so excited. Eliza has preogressed so much in her speech because of Miss Lori.

Provo City Half Marathon Kids One Mile Race

Tyson participated with other kids from his school (and other schools) in the Provo City Half Marathon Fun Run. They would run at school to prepare for this race and then today they finished by running the race. We are so proud of you Tyson.
