Little Trip To Kansas

We went to Kansas to visit Mike's family for about a week and a half. We flew out on December 15th very early in the morning. Both kids did GREAT on the plane. Eliza slept on all flights and Ty did amazingly great.

We stayed with the Rush family and did a lot of hanging out, talking, playing with the kids, eating, and having fun.

One of the first days that we were there we went to the Discovery Kids Museum. The kids had a lot of fun. Tysons favorite was the car. Also there there was a store/kitchen, dentist office, grainery, painting, workshop, blacklight room and many other things. Tyson had SO much fun and Eliza just crawled around following the kids.

While we were in Kansas we ate out at this fun Mexican restaurant. It was near Tanner's Birthday so they sang to him and at this restaurant put whipped cream in their face.

While we were in Kansas we got to visit Santa. Tyson kept saying he wanted a bike for christmas and that is what he told Santa, even though he already has two. While there they had a few crafts for the kids to make which were ornaments for the tree and the girls even got a picture with Mrs. Clause. Tyson was a little nervous with Santa, so was Eliza but she didn't cry.

Also while in Kansas we took the kids to Bonkers. It was like ChuckeCcheese but better. They had this big play area that both kids and adults could go into and play and an arcade and an area to eat. We played hard and had pizza to eat.

Grandpa James also was able to come and visit while we were out there. Tyson had fun hanging out with him and Eliza was terrifed but warmed up to him when he bribed her with cookies. She will do anything for a cookie.

One night we had fun making gingerbread houses. It was fun and the first time I have ever done one. I think that it might become a Christmas tradition.

We had a Christmas party on December 23rd since we were leaving the next day. We had a big ham dinner, did a craft, read a story and did a gift exchange.

My First Attempt

I made my first attempt at doing Eliza's hair. It is now getting long enough that I can do something and I am so excited. I have been waiting for this. I first tried a ponytail and it didn't look so good. So I then tried pigtails and they are so cute. I still need some practice but they didn't turn out too bad. I may be a little biased but she is the cutest girl there ever was.

Our "Christmas Tree"

This is our Christmas Tree!

WHY?

1)We are going to be leaving in a week for Kansas and gone till Christmas.

2)We have a one year old that I am POSITIVE would not leave a real (artificial in our case) tree alone.

3)We really don't have a lot of space in our living room for a tree

SO HENCE

This is what we get this year. Pretty cute for a cardboard Christmas tree.

Zoo Day

Tyson is involved in a little learning group where we are learning the alphabet. Well since we we near the end of the alphabet we thought it would be fun to take them to Hogle Zoo. It was also free zoo day which made it even better. They had so much fun and it was actually quite a nice day for being the end of November. It was fun to have a mommy-son date and focus all my attention on him. Tyson said his favorites were the Tigers and giraffes.

Happy 1st Birthday Eliza

We had a fun little party for Eliza on her birthday. We had lots of family over and lots of fun. I made her cake which is always fun for me and she had fun tearing into the cupcake and opening her presents (or better yet playing with the paper).

On your mark...Get set...Go!

We got Eliza a new car seat and it is always fun to make something with a big box like that so we made Tyson a racetrack. Mike made him a racetrack with a tunnel and then I made him a new and improved race track...I painted it. Tyson loves it and has a lot of fun playing with it.

Happy Birthday Mike!

For Mike's Birthday he requested bacon cheeseburgers and onion rings. We have mastered an onion ring recipe and they are so good. He also requested a peach cobbler for his "cake". It was also very good. The kids and I took him some balloons and treats to his work and surprised him. The next weekend we went to the mall and picked out some new tennis shoes for his birthday present. We love you and happy birthday.

Kids...Kids...Kids

This morning Ty got the blankets and pillows fraom his couch and bed, also his monkey and elephant and oh can't forget the rugs and made himself a little bed and pretended to go to sleep.

This was Tyson's next action of the day. He first took the mattress off his bed then took all his toys that he has and his chair and put them all on his bed. Yes, I am talking about EVERY single toy that we own plus some books. I didn't see it until the damage was done. Him and Eliza were playing so quitely that I just took advantage of it and walked in on this. And Eliza just sat and cheered him on. Then I did have him help me clean it all up. Kids...Kids...Kids.
