Anniversary Number 3

It was our third anniversary on Wednesday July 1, 2009. Time sure flies when you are having fun. Mike is my perfect fit. We have laughed and cried together and grown closer to each other in the last three years. My love for him and appreciation for him is so great. I am so happy he chose me to be his wife three years ago and made me a proud mommy. I am so grateful that he holds the priesthood and am so grateful for his example. He is an awsome husband and father.

We had a fun filled anniversary. For anniversary gifts he got me a UVU hoodie. I have wanted one ever since I graduated over a year ago. So, he was walking by the bookstore and they were on sale so he bought me it for our anniversary. Thanks honey!

I got him a couple of things. I got him a board game as a combined fathers day and anniversary gift. I got him Phase 10 Twist.

Also, I made him a candy bar poster that was waiting for him when he got home from school on Wednesday.

For dinner on Wednesday I made Cafe Rio pork salads at home. They were so good. It takes a lot of work and many dishes and afterward a big mess, but worth it once in a while.

Here is the BIG mess I was referring to.

Here is the yummy pork.

The finished product.

Since Mike had work and school on our anniversary we celebrated it mostly on Thursday. We spent the morning getting to ready to go up to Salt Lake City to celebrate. Our plan was to go with Chris and Lauree and take Tyson and Tanner swimming. It started raining so Mike said there was an indoor pool that he knew of that we could go to and swim. He pulled up to the Shilo Inn and surprised me by saying that he had got us a hotel room for the night and that Chris and Lauree were going to take Tyson for the night. (First time away from Tyson for the whole night. It was a little weird.) He was going to check in and we were going to go swimming. We were a little early to check in and they wouldn't let us. So we ended up going back to Chris and Lauree's house until our dinner reservation.

We had made dinner reservations at The Roof Restaurant (at the top of the Joseph Smith Memorial Building) for 5:30. Chris and Lauree had a gift card with some money on it so they joined us for a double date while we left the two boys with Mike's mom. We had a great time. Dinner was great and the desserts were even better. The view was gorgious as well.

After dinner, we went back to Chris and Lauree's house. We kissed Tyson goodnight and Mike and I went to the movie The Proposal. After the movie we went back to the hotel and since the pool was open 24 hours we went swimming and sat in the hot tub. It was a great night. Thanks for the wonderful surprise Mike.

The next morning Chris and Lauree brought the kids over the the hotel to go swimming since we weren't able to the day before. Here are some fun pictures of us swimming.

Thank you honey for a wonderful anniversary. I love you very much.

Baby Lucy

We were very excited to finally meet and welcome Cassy's new baby into the family on Monday, June 29, 2009. They named her Lucy McBride. She was 7 pounds 6 ounces and was 19.5 inches long. She is so beautiful and precious.

Swimming

I took Tyson swimming for the first time Wednesday, June 24. I went with Cassy and her kids and we met Marci there at the pool. He had a hard time at first because he was hungry but once he was fed he was happy and loved the water.

We Love Our Little Man

Springville Art City Days Parade

On Saturday, June 13, we went to the Art City Days Parade in Springville with Cassy and her family and our friend Colin. We had a lot of fun. It was good weather for the parade. Tyson did not like the sirens or loud cars. Here are some pics.

5 Months

I am a little late on this but Tyson turned 5 months on June 9, 2009. He is learning and growing everyday. During Tyson's fifth month his two bottom teeth poked through, he had his first cold, he started rice cereal with applesauce, many times he skips his third nap and goes to bed earlier, is getting on a more regular schedule, is able to fall asleep himself when we put him in the crib at night, rolled over both ways, holds his chest up with his hands, is more attentive to details and mom and dad, went camping to Otter Creek, went to first parade and hated the fire engines and loud cars, sleeps on his tummy and is starting to sit up better on his own but not quite. I love watching him learn new things it seems as if he does something new everyday.

Mike's Mustache

A little over a month ago Mike told me that it was May mustache month and that he was going to grow out his mustache. I do not like the mustache, in fact I am not a fan of facial hair at all and if he has to have facial hair I think I like him with a gotee the best. Throughout the month he has said that he is going to keep the mustache. And this last week he said it is just starting to look good. He really wants to keep it but I really want it to go. We are taking a poll, what do you think?

Tyson's Routine

Now that Tyson is almost 5 months old it seems we are getting into a little routine. It is kind of nice because most of the time I can predict when he is going to eat and sleep which helps me to plan my day. He usually wakes up in the morning around 7 to 7:30. He will eat a 6 ounce bottle. He will play for a little while with me or his toys. He will usually take a short nap in the morning usually about 45 min to 1 hour. When he wakes up he will then have another bottle. Play. Then take a longer nap usually around 2 hours or so. He will eat again when he wakes up, play, and then take another short nap. When he wakes up from his short nap we feed him another bottle and we play somemore. Sometimes he will take another short nap sometimes not and then we usually feed him dinner (rice cereal and a bottle) around 6 or 7 and then give him a bath. He will usually stay up for an hour or two and then go to bed about 9 or 10 and sleep all night.

First Solids

We started Ty on rice cereal on Tuesday May 26, 2009. The first night we fed him he wasn't that interested and did not eat too much. The second night he did a lot better and gets more interested in it each time we feed him. The second night we mixed it with a little applesauce, maybe that is why he liked it more. We like to strip him down to his diaper because it can get kind of messy because he likes to grab the spoon with his hands. I fed Tyson the first night and Mike fed him the second night so here are pictures of both nights.

(I didn't know how to rotate the video!)

Tyson gets messy while he eats so he gets a bath every night after he eats the cereal. He loves the bath. What a cute little guy.

Memorial Day 2009

We had a fun Memorial Day weekend. We went camping at Otter Creek. We went with Mike's brother Chris, his sister Lauree and her husband Chris and their son Tanner. Also, our friends Colin, Melissa and her kids Aiden and Marley came as well. We left Friday afternoon to head down and get camp set up. As we were driving there it was raining but by the time we got there it let up a little so we were able to set up camp. After we set up camp we started a fire and sat around the fire, made dinner, and talked. Tyson fell asleep soon after we got camp set up so he did not join us around the fire the first night. He slept really well the first night. Had a bad night and did not sleep at much the second night. I think he was either teething or had a stomach ache. We gave him some Tylenol the next day and he started to feel better after that. He slept really good the third night. It rained most of the day Saturday until late in the afternoon so we hung out in the tents most of the morning. That afternoon the sun came out and we were able to do some fishing and four wheeling and hanging out outside of the tent. Sunday it was really windy a lot of the day but the sun shone most of the day. Tyson got really scared when he was in the tent and the wind would shake the tent. He did not like that at all. Sunday night we had a big fire and talked around the fire. Monday we got up, ate breakfast, packed up, and Mike, me, and Tyson headed to Aurora to go to the Harward family Reunion. We first met at Granpa Harwards grave then went to the Aurora church and had a family dinner and games. It was an overall fun weekend.

Here is Tyson sleeping in the little bed we made for him. Doesn't he look warm and comfy!?

We were able to come out of the tent Saturday for a little bit when the rain was taking a break. You can see in the pictures how dark and cloudy it was but that did not ruin our fun.

Mike was able to go fishing but didn't have any luck catching anything.

Here is me and Tyson fishing. That is Mike's brother Chris in the background.

Mike cutting wood for the fire. Look at those dark clouds in the sky!

Here is Mike and Tyson just hanging out.

Mike and I were able to go on a couple of four wheeler rides while the others watched Tyson. It was lots of fun. Mike is convinced we should get one of these. It would be fun but not practical in our lives right now.
