August is Fun

The girls thought it would be a good idea to gang up on Ty. I am surprised he would tolerate it. It just goes to show what a good big brother he is.

One day we walked/rode bikes to McDonald's to get a free ice cream with a coupon the kids earned for completing the library's summer reading program. Eliza rode this little bike all the way there. Her little legs were working so hard. She was determined to ride it all the way there though.

These boys (Tyson and his friend from across the street Grant) decided they wanted to earn some money and asked if they could do a lemonade stand. Well all we had was Grape Kool-Aid so that is what they chose. They found a cardboard box and wrote on it. At first they wanted $25 a cup. I helped them out by saying we should probably only charge 25 cents. They agreed that would be a good choice. They actually made out with about $3 each. One of the neighbors stopped and just handed them money and said she didn't want the Kool-Aid just wanted to support them in trying to earn money. They wanted to go do something with their money they earned so they went to Wal-Mart to look for a toy. In the end they didn't find anything they wanted so they stopped and had a sno-cone instead.

This is a sunflower from our garden that Mike planted. He really likes sunflower seeds and wanted to make his own. We were able to harvest two big sunflowers. He wished he would have seasoned them more though because they didn't have much flavor.

Eliza had been begging me to do curlers in her hair for awhile so I did them for church one Sunday.

Our beautiful children. I kinda like them a lot. They mean everything to me.

Eliza had our day all planned out for after Ty went to school. She said, " I think Ty is having fun at school but we are going to have lots of fun here too for our girly day. She was so excited to paint our nails...she wanted them all the colors. She starts preschool in two weeks. Dont know what I will do with myself with only one child for part of the day!! Oh the possibilities.
