Easter Saturday

We like to do easter egg hunts and easter baskets on the Saturday before Easter Sunday so on Sunday we can focus on the Savior and his ressurection. I am sad to say I didn't get an Easter Sunday picture of the kids but we have a ton of pics from Saturday. We started the day with a scavenger hunt for the kids to find their easter baskets. They had a bunch of clues that led to different areas around the house and then to their baskets.

Silly Easter bunny left their baskets in the bathtub!

They had fun playing with their stash in their baskets. They both got sunglasses, a book, and some candy. Eliza got a dress and some play kitchen dishes and utensils. Tyson got an outfit and some toys from the dollar store and by the next day two of them were already broken. Gotta love the dollar store.

After the kids looked throuugh their easter baskets, they went on an egg hunt around the house to find eggs filled with candy the Easter bunny left. Tyson found most of them. Eliza just cared that she found some candy. Our little sugaraholic.

After a little morning fun, breakfast, and time to get ready we went to the Spanish Fork Easter egg hunt. It started at 9:00. We drove into the parking lot and saw there was still snow on the fields where the eggs were. We got out and it was really cold. We got there in just enough time for Ty to get to the field where he was suppose to be. I stayed with Ty and he was too cold he didn't even want to pick up the eggs. I sent Mike to see if he could find where Eliza was suppose to be and he was too late. It went really fast and was really cold. Kind of a disappointment. We were back in the car at 9:09.

We then went home for a little bit and then decided to head to Provo to their egg hunt. We decided to try our luck a second time. Also, we heard that there was going to be a few more attractions in Provo such as a bounce house and firetruck and egg hunt so we went. It had warmed up quite a bit and was a little bit funner. Tyson had fun seeing the firetruck and they had a better time with this egg hunt. After the egg hunt we stayed there and played at the park for awhile.

Our cute kids sporting their new sunglasses. On our way to Provo.

Waiting for the egg hunt to start.

Eliza is thinking "Awe...more candy!"

"Yummy"

"Don't even think about taking this egg away from me"

"I think I will steal some of Tyson's since he is not looking"

"haha, I got one"

"How do I get the open"

"Now I got 2...more candy"

"What?"

"How about some more?"

Tyson had so much fun admiring the firetruck.

A little later that afternoon we went to my sister Marci's house and had a barbeque, celebrated Parker's 8th birthday, and had another egg hunt. Our fourth for the day.

"I found one mom"

Tyson's eggs kept coming open so he got a little frustrated. Or maybe not, maybe he just wanted to eat the candy inside.

"Get it Liza, Get it''

Here we go...more sugar

"Yummy"

Yes we did go to three different egg hunts but between both kids they probably got ten eggs at each hunt. They were a little slow and cared more about what was inside the eggs than getting the most eggs. I just love seeing them happy. We still ended up with a lot of leftover candy. We had a busy non stop kind of day and were all very tired.

Sunday we were able to talk about the Savior as a family. I did a little lesson for the kids. We did the resurrection eggs and looked at pictures, and I had a cute little Easter story.
