"Two" Sweet Celebration

We had such a great time celebrating Eliza's 2nd birthday. I came up with the theme of A "TWO" Sweet celebration. Eliza can smell candy and sweets from a mile away so we had a little candy buffet at her party along with cupcakes and ice cream. She got spoiled rotten with a few things for the play kitchen, Minnie Mouse, a tea set, a stroller and a doll, clothes and other girly things. She had a great time with all her family and friends.

Hazlett Family Update

Mike has been very busy with school. He is in his last semester of school. He will be done this December but will walk at graduation in April. We are both so ready for this to be done. I am ready to have a husband back and the kids are ready for their dad to be back. There are many days the kids go without seeing their dad so they are ready to be able to spend some more time with him. Mike spends most of his time working, going to school, and doing homework. On the side when he has a little bit of time he enjoys rooting for the Kansas State Wildcats football team. He is the 11 year old primary teacher and loves to teach those kids.

Chari is very busy with taking care of the house, the kids, and her calling. She was just called a couple months ago to be the 1st counselor in the primary presidency. It is very busy but so much fun. Getting used to teaching sharing time has been the biggest hurdle. She is also busy teaching for Ty's joy school. She is busy taking care of household needs, christmas projects, and other fun projects. She is in an FHE lesson swap group. She has recently taken up sewing and learning that new skill.

Tyson is loving going to his little joy school twice a week. He also loves attending the library once a week for story time and to pick out new books and movies. He loves to go to playgroup to play with all his friends. He has been having fun playing outside with some new friends that just moved into our complex. He currently loves anything fireman/firetruck related, still loves tractors, trains, and garbage trucks. He loves bob the builder and Handy Manny and still loves Curious George and Thomas the train. He loves to read and look at books. He is such a good helper to me and little Eliza and is the best boy a mom could have. He makes me laugh every single day.

Eliza is about to turn 2 in a couple of weeks so there will be a big update in a couple weeks about her. But she is such a girly girl. She loves to play with her brother and loves books and anything girly. I will leave the rest for her 2 year update. We love our silly little Liza.

First Snowy Day

Tyson was so excited for the snow to come. I told him yesterday that it was going to snow. So this morning when he got up even though it started off by just raining he got his hat, gloves, boots, and coat on and said I want to go play in the rain and snow. I told him he would have to wait until after school and he was not happy about that. So right after school he said look there's snow, lets go play. Well I am not a huge fan of being cold and playing in the snow so I convinced Mike to take him out and they had a lot of fun. Tyson was SOOO excited to be out in the snow. I just love to hear Ty laughing and having fun. It makes my heart happy. Tyson can't wait to go back out tomorrow so he can build a snowman. Hopefully I can convince Mike to take him out again.

Happy Birthday

Happy Birthday Mike. Mike had to work and go to school on his birthday so his hour break in between we celebrated by opening presents and having birthday cake. Mike got a Kansas State shirt and some cash from the kids and I. Mike and I celebrated last weekend by going on a date to red lobster for their all you can eat shrimp. Mike was in heaven.

Halloween

We had a great Halloween. We went to the trunk-or-treat where we had refreshments, a family photo area, and the trunk or treat. It was a lot of fun. After the trunk or treat we went trick-or-treating with some friends from our ward and then stopped at grandpa and grandma's house to show off the costumes. Tyson makes a great batman and Mom and Eliza make pretty cats. (Ty was going to be a fireman until his best friend borrowed him this batman costume so they both could be batman)

Eliza's New Girly Room!

I have been wanting to change Eliza's room for quite a while now. When I was pregnant and we found out Eliza was a girl we were still living in a two bedroom apartment. Because of this, I wanted to try and find some type of bedding that was quite neutral since both Ty and Eliza would be sharing a room. So I found a really cute polka dot set that was green, yellow, and orange. Well shortly after Eliza was born we moved into this three bedroom apartment in which each child now has their own room. Eliza still used the same bedding set that I had gotten and I never felt it was right for her (especially since she is such a girly-girl) and was never really happy about her room decor.  I have always wanted for Eliza to have a girly room ever since we moved here and I finally just took the plunge and redid it. I just went and got a set of pink sheets, changed how I displayed her name, made a new sign for above the window ("Sugar and Spice and everything nice thats what little girls are made of"), I found this pink curtain at DI (I thought it was two panels when I bought it but when I got it home I realized it was only 1 but I think it works all right), I bought some fabric and ribbon and changed the board that has her bows on it, I found the cute lantern balls at the party store, I bought the shelving and drawers at Target, and I found the lamp at DI and just added the ruffles to the lampshade.(Opinions:should I paint the base of the lamp pink or leave it white?)  It was a fun little project. And it makes me really happy when I go in there now and I think it makes Eliza happy too.

Mainstreet trick-or-treating/Firetruck

Mike took Tyson trick-or-treating down mainstreet. He said that was fun but the highlight of the whole day was being able to get in the firetruck. For Tyson that is so exciting because he is in love with everything firetruck lately. He is constantly dressing up as a fireman and playing fireman. So he was absoultely enthralled. Everytime we pass the fire station now he tells me all about playing in the firetruck. What a cute little batman.

Pumpkin Day

We had our annual Eppich family pumpkin day. We met up and headed straight over to the pumpkin patch. We first looked at the animals in the petting zoo...

...watched the kids play in the corn and mazes...

...went on a hayride around the pumpkin patch and to see the barn animals...

...picked out the perfect pumpkins (the rule was you had to be able to carry your own pumpkin; however, Ty kept saying I just want a big one... a really big one)...

...took some family pictures with our pumpkins...

...went back to granpa and grandma's and painted/carved (or both) our pumpkins...

...the finished products-Thanks Grandpa and Grandma for another fun pumpkins day...

...Happy Pumpkin Day from the Hazletts!
